Life skills

Established in eastern Bhutan to empower children and youth with disabilities toward independent, confident lives.

Overview

In addition to vocational training, Draktsho places strong emphasis on life skills that support independence and everyday wellbeing. Trainees learn personal management skills that help them make informed decisions and manage daily routines confidently. Communication is strengthened through sign language training, while social and domestic behavior skills promote positive interaction at home and in the community. The program also includes work-related and functional academic skills to prepare trainees for employment, along with essential safety awareness. Occupational skills are integrated throughout the training, ensuring learners develop practical abilities, confidence, and responsible attitudes needed for meaningful participation in work and community life.
