Vocational Courses

Established in eastern Bhutan to empower children and youth with disabilities toward independent, confident lives.

Overview

Draktsho offers a diverse range of vocational courses designed to build practical skills, creativity, and self-reliance among trainees. The programs include tailoring, embroidery, and weaving, alongside traditional Bhutanese art and painting that preserve cultural heritage. Learners are also trained in basket weaving using cane and plastic, pottery, and souvenir carpentry such as wood carving. In addition, courses cover souvenir production, including greeting cards and doll making, enabling trainees to create marketable handmade products. These vocational trainings aim to enhance employability, encourage independence, and provide meaningful livelihood opportunities while fostering confidence, dignity, and active participation in family and community life.
